The short answer: yes, you will want one!
A Day-of Coordinator allows you to be fully present at the wedding rehearsal and the entire wedding day by taking all the details you've already arranged – vendors, contracts, decor, hair/makeup, transportation, etc – and ensures everything goes smoothly and as planned during both event days.

A Full-Service Planner will handle everything for the couple from start to finish., beginning with the overall design and vision of the wedding. The full-service planner helps the couple create a budget and stay within it. This option also includes curating the right vendors, overseeing contracts, logistics coordination, and more.
The Day-Of Coordinator will come into the picture a few weeks prior to the special event to help coordinate all the details you have already planned. They are like a personal advisor, making sure everything goes according to your plans for the day.
Whichever package you choose – Full-Service Planner or Day-Of Coordinator – Carolina Hatton Design guarantees personalized attention focused on getting everything organized and ready. As your wedding day approaches, our team ensures all the planned details are executed as you envisioned them. We also act as your advocate and handle unexpected situations if they arise, often solving problems without you even knowing.
Our heart is for you to relax, be fully present, and enjoy your special day with loved ones. -
The most important difference? A Venue Coordinator works for the venue and serves to protect its interests, not yours. The Day-Of Coordinator is there to work for you, ensuring every vendor (including the venue) does what is expected of them, according to the contract.
If the ceremony does not take place at the venue, the venue coordinator will not go to the ceremony site to coordinate your ceremony.
They are there to make sure that the venue does what it has offered in your contract. If the ceremony is on site with the reception, they will organize the ceremony and follow your reception timetable for dances, toasts and dinner, but they will not create one for you.
Additionally, they will not assist with any activities outside their premises and outside the 5 hours of the venue contract. The venue coordinator's duties end when dinner is served and the cake is cut.
If an unexpected situation arises they advocate for the venue, not you the host.
A Venue Coordinator will receive your vendors and show them where to set up or deliver their goods, however they do not review contracts with vendors to ensure you are treated fairly, nor contact them prior to confirm the time of delivery.
If a vendor does not show up, the venue coordinator will not contact them to find out what happened or come up with a Plan B solution.
A Wedding Coordinator, however, does handle all of these logistics and even stays until the last guest has gone. They advocate for you and are completely attentive to your needs. They oversee that all gifts and decor are packed for you to take.
